There might be a ton of pho restaurants downtown, but I only go to one. Im not saying the others suck, Im just saying this is the only one I really like.
Ive been coming here for the last 5 years or so (not everyday obviously cuz my mom also makes pho at home too). Im just very particular with my Vietnamese food is all, and the way I see it is if Im going to spend some time eating, I want to be inside a nicely decorated and ambient restaurant. Also, its a nice restaurant for me to show off to my non Vietnamese friends. lol. Its a lot easier for me to get them to try new stuff on the menu when the restaurant looks nice and the customer service is good.
Something that I will always recommend people to try is the rare beef and beef ball pho, also try the grilled chicken and porkchop rice platter with a fried egg and lastly, make sure you try the spring roll/ grilled pork/ minced shrimp on sugarcane vermicelli bowl. You can never go wrong with those 3 orders.
And be sure to eat your pho fast. I always try to finish the bowl while theres still steam. Just dont burn your tongue. lol.
So shout outs to the good people at Pho 88.
And if you’ve never tried Vietnamese food before, this is where Id recommend you start.
