Last week, Fresh, Addy, Rich Kidd, Mac, Fellz and I attended the Magic clothing convention in Las Vegas.

Addy, Rich, Mac and Fellz were at the convention working on their own project, but Fresh and I were looking for new brands and collections for our spot at 498 Queen St W.

Truth be told, this was my very first Magic. Although, I thought it was a sick experience to see all of my fave brands and some cool clothes, I wish I was able to attend during its heyday. I remember first learning about Magic when I used to read the Hundreds blog, Hypebeast, Freshness Mag and all of that stuff heavy. Which was probably during 2005-2007. I remember staring at the pics and saying how cool it was that Bobby Hundreds knew everyone and that he showed loved to everyone in the clothing/ sneaker game. I also remember saying how cool everyone was dressed.

I remember Addy and I walking to the tram to take the train from the Excalibur to Mandalay Bay and seeing these three dudes all decked out. They had Versace sunglasses on, some fly ass tuques with some gold stitching (I wont even front like I know all these new brands), vintage denim vests with gold studs and rips and pins, camo pangs with all sorts of crazy ish wrapped around their legs, and a Jordans with MCM bandanas wrapped on em….Im looking at theses dudes and then looking back at myself…Im in a black tee, khakis and a pair of white sneaks…I was like damn, should I go back and get changed? But to what? I dont even own anything like that never mind packing it with me to Vegas. Whatever, Addy and I took the train to the convention hall and thankfully, it was just a small handfull of people who decked to that degree. *Phew. I was getting all self conscious and was like damn, am I really that out of touch with current street fashion trends? Im making us Torontonians look bad out here. I felt swagless.

lol.

But anyhow…

I wanted my photos from Magic to evoke the same emotions from my readers that Bobby had on me. Im pretty sure I failed though. For one, Bobby is way better photographer than I am, and I feel like, pictures turn out different when you’re comfortable and confident. Whether it be true or false, I felt like it was easier for Bobby to take pics because people knew him and that gave him the time to get the right shot. As opposed to me feeling like a paparazzi or one of those annoying media people or even worse, one of those “bloggers” (everyones a blogger nowadays and I feel like theres no credibility behind saying you are anymore). But then again, I could just be making excuses for myself. lol. Dont mind me.

Going through the pictures, I realize that you wont get the experience that I wanted to bring back to you, but hopefully it gives you a good idea. Not to make up anymore excuses, but I woke up late the first day, had arthritis in my leg for most of the second day that caused me to limp throughout the convention and on the third day, we all just got lazy and didnt get there til just before it ended. lol. So I did my best.

Regardless, I still want to go back in August for the Spring/ Summer convention.

Anyhow, enough talking on my end.
