This post makes me happy and sad all the same time.
Drake wrote this back in ’08 before LITW even started.
This was when we were all just finding our way. When we were all lost together. Teams were being built, moves were being made and the redefinition of Toronto was in the works.
You know what it was like, knowing you were the new young boys in town? The new young boys that were were about to change everything? We were all lost, but we all had each other. Some of you may understand this feeling, but I dont think anything ever compared to this time. It was us knowing that a new era in our city was about to begin.
3 years later. Look at us.
I remember this one night, years ago during a Rick Ross party for Caribana, Drake, Niko, 40 and Olie just got back from a trip in Mexico. Drake and Niko didnt come to the party that night but 40 and Oliver did.
40 comes up to me and he’s like “shout outs to photo will. shout outs to photo will.”
I laugh and Im like…”why do you keep saying that?”
“Yo, we just got back from Mexico and Drake went in on the Im Still Fly beat and shouted you out!” says 40 aka Noah.
I laugh.
“Word?!” (side note: that was the first time the name Photo Will had ever been used. He gave me my nickname)
“Yea man! Tracks sick! You gotta hear it man! But yo, we’re about to do this shit man! You down?”
“Down for what?
“We’re going on tour man! For So Far Gone.”
“Word?! For how long?”
“I dunno.”
“Shit eh? Well, damn. I dont know if I can go right now bro. Im back in school in September.”
“Just come dude. Its gonna be crazy.”
“Fuck!”
Long story short, I missed the train.
I aint mad though. Ive never once regretted not going with them when they were heading out.
We’re all still boys, but our separate paths has allowed me to define myself the way I want to and at my own pace. It allowed me to be lost for as long as I needed to be.
We all had the same starting line more or less. We used to carpool and now we’re all riding in our own lanes in our whips. But we’re all headed to the same place. Same destinations, just different routes, different scenery, different obstacles and different experiences.
Everything happened for a reason. Although Im sure the last 3 years would have been very different and wild, the last 3 years also wouldnt have made me who I am today.
Id be a very different person.
For better or worse? Who knows.
If I left, I might not have had the time to build this blog or become a better photographer (cuz the lord knows I sucked ass when he first gave me that nickname). And the relationships I have with friends and family today would be very different or may even be non existent.
Either way, I want to say congratulations to my brothers. Im so proud of you guys. Continue leading us. We’re right behind you.
I got nothing but love.
I might be writing this blog, but we’re all writing history.
Peace and love.
T’s and O’s.

( the 3:00 mark and onwards…how could i have ever asked for more? lol.)

The shout out Drake gave you on “I’m Still Fly” is how I discovered who you. I mustve listened to that freestyle a hundred time. I always shouted that part because it sounded so cool. Lol. It’s crazy to know Drake wanted you to be apart of his crew. He could see you greatness in photography then. Everything happens for a reason though.
Great post Will never knew 40 gave you your nick name.
That’s a crazy story man, it’s wild how a decision one way or the other could have varying results in where life takes you..anyway man I don’t remember how I stumbled on your blog, I think it had something to do with “Still Fly” but I’ve been a fan ever since. Keep putting out the dope pics, funny stories and just keeping it all the way Trill.
great story, just catching up with your blog. Last time I was on here was when you got in that bad car accident. Now you got a store?? Crazy!
