I did this shoot about 3 weeks ago.
We wanted to do something fun, playful and sexy…this is what we came up with.
Im just starting to do creative shoots and truth be told, I am not entirely confident in what I can produce yet, so I had Andrew come along with me to help me out with the lighting and directing. Most importantly, I also really needed someone to be with me for support and motivation. Shout outs to him for that.
I need to have more confidence when I shoot and believe in what I can produce. One thing I really need to work on is direction. I just usually dont like to direct too much because Im afraid of things looking too staged and forced, but I guess it wont if I know how to direct well right? lol.
Although I was frustrated and stressed the whole shoot, I think the pictures came out pretty ill.
Shout outs to Nebby and Lissa. Thanks for letting me shoot this and thanks for being such awesome and fun models. Also shout outs to Nebby for some of her help with the post production as well.

I dig them. I am not a photographer so I am not sure how much my opinion counts. The images are fun and sexy with edge. I could see this as an editorial fashion spread in a magazine. Will, you should get on Tumblr (if you are not already) and share your work. Folks will love it.
Yes Will, my dood, your craft keeps getting better. Love the range from the playful to the soulful. but most of all that it doesn’t look staged.

Ah Will! It’s a learning curve and for what it’s worth you’re pretty good at it. I mean the photos look grey and are very well edited, the lighting gives a soulful touch which I like and kind of haz-ish.
Nebby and Lissa look great but that’s a given
very natural too so I wouldn’t worry about it looking staged.
What I will say is that I wouldn’t see this as an editorial spread, while it definitely has enough quality to be in that category, I don’t feel that the story/narrative behind it is strong enough.
You definitely got that playful, fun, sexy vibe going on but to me it seems more like an ad campaign (and I mean that in a good way. Ya know like the ckone ads about right now? About being young, fun, beautiful and bare?)
These photos have an ethos behind it (cool, laid-back, sexy, playful) like if it was an ad campaign I’d be interested (kind of reminds me of WILDFOX but more urban and mature)
I mean on the editorial slant it could be like a “staycation”/dress-up/when the something are away the girls do play…
Enough of my ranting it’s a quality shoot and I look forward to seeing more Photo Will creative directed shoots.
