First of all, I want to thank Ashley MacIntyre for inviting me to another awesome private function today and to High Road for putting this all together. I was impressed with the production and am truly honored to have been able to attend.

To be honest, I totally forgot about today’s event even though Ashley was harassing me all last week to come today. So I wake up today around 10ish and Ash hits me up on BBM and she’s like ‘are you coming?’

I have no idea what shes talking. I check my calendar and see nothing. I assume that I must have forgotten to type it in. I go to Ash…”Coming to what?”

She’s like “XBOX WILL!!!”

Im like ‘oh yea!!! damn!!! shit! Ok, Ill call into work!” lol

So I took the first half of my work day off and headed downtown with my faves to check out what all the hype was about. I remember Ashley’s email saying I was supposed to go through the doors on Richmond to get into The Fifth, but everyone was going through the doors on Duncan so I just followed them. I get to the girl with the guestlist and she finds my name and she’s like, you gotta go through the doors on Richmond. I walk back and around thinking Im not cool enough to be going through those doors and Im probably stuck in the losers sections around the corner. So whatever, I get to the other side of the building and head up the tiny ass elevator that I would probably commit suicide in had we got stuck and get out on the fifth floor. It was a lot smaller and less crowded than the other entrance but I was hoping it was that way for a particular reason.

So a nice lady from High Road comes up to Julie and I and introduces herself and welcomes us to the private media lounge. The difference between this section and the other was that we were able to see all the exclusive games and really get to experience the Kinect device. Downstairs was just a preview of all the new video games and only one Kinect station.

Immediately I felt a better…also because there was free food laying all over the counters…I didnt know what to do first! Play or eat! lol

If you havent seen how this Kinect device works…let me tell you, its the frickin shit! Like…damn…are we already this far into our future? Like so far into our future that we dont even need controllers to play video games anymore? Damn…Atari what? lol

Look, Ill admit it. Im a Playstation guy, but Kinect might cause the end of a lot of consoles…namely the Nintendo Wii. It shuts its shit dowwwn!

I thought the technology was gonna be glitchy and not catch all my movements on time and would just lag and be super delayed. Like after every move I made while playing, I was expecting the game not to respond for a few seconds, but to my surprise, the response was pretty much immediate!

They have this game by MTV called “Dance Central” which is gonna murder Dance Dance Revolution aka DDR because this is actually going to make you dance as opposed to just do the hokie pokie. I wanted to try but the lord knows I have no coordination for that stuff, but Blake McGrath of So You Think You Can Dance was in the building and yes, he ripped that game to pieces. He got the top score of 5 stars while playing in the hardest mode and dancing to Lady Gaga’s Pokerface. lol. I was in complete awe. Shout outs to Blake McGrath man. I tip my hat to you.

Whats insane is you dont have to go through some sort of recognition process for the game to load you as a player. Its intelligent…so intelligent its actually scary. Like you could be playing someone could be beside your or walking around you and it wont get confused or mixed up or whatever. Aint that some shit?! lol

Anyways, before you guys think Im some sort of Xbox sales person, Ill end it here.
